waking up is a hard thing to do

i'm not a fan of mornings.

you're the one that has to go to work, so why do i have to get up, too?

there's nothing worse than being kicked out of a warm, snuggly bed to "go outside and go potty."

does it LOOK like i want to go outside and go potty? 

so i like to drag the process out as long as i possibly can.

excuse me while i yawn and stretch for the 100th time. 

when i finally climb out of bed, i make sure to do some more puppy-stretches on the floor.

just...a little bit...further...

and then i check the mirror to see if i've gotten any cuter over night.

verdict: still cute. 

after i go outside to do my business, i come back and pick a spot on the floor for my routine morning nap.

comfy enough for my nap, but also the perfect spot to keep an eye on the human as she gets ready.

sometimes when the human isn't looking, i'll double check the mirror to make sure i have completely de-fluffed my bedhead. there's nothing more embarrassing than walking around with a poofy head of fur, you know.

what? no, i wasn't looking at myself, i was, um, sleeping right here, on this carpet.

if i think the human is taking too long to get ready, i will assume my "sulking position" on the floor and try to blend into the carpet.

i like to think that the human bought this carpet to match my fur.

if i'm feeling extra sulky because the human is getting ready for work and ignoring me, i scoot closer to the bathroom door and wait for her to notice.

do you feel guilty about leaving me home alone all day while you're at work yet?

but when she says "time for breakfast!" i immediately forget how grumpy i am and start thinking about bacon instead.

well what are you waiting for? let's cook up some breakfast! and by breakfast, i mean bacon. and by cooking, i mean you cook while i watch.

it's going to be a good day.

maybe mornings aren't so bad after all.
